Elbow Patch

The elbow patch sport coat. Traditionally known as the hunting sport coat, the elbow patches were originally designed for hunters to prevent wear and tear while steadying their shot and resting on their elbows. Usually found on tweed or wool sport coats. You don't need to be a hunter to wear a hunting sport coat these days since the elbow patch is now a common design detail in sport coats by many designers. Perfect with jeans and always used in casual occasions. Photo Source: thegreatparvenu
